New Voices: Ali Levack

Ali Levack has carved an indelible mark on the Scottish folk music landscape. Winner of the esteemed BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician award in 2020, Ali's musical prowess and innovative spirit have earned him recognition as one of the foremost exponents of Scottish music.

With a reputation forged by virtuosity and innovation, Ali Levack continues to push musical boundaries. He has amassed a large audience following through his band projects GLIN, Valtos, Project Smok, and has collaborated with some of the top musicians in Scotland and internationally, Tidelines, Anxo Lorenzo, John Somerville, Dolphin Boy, Travie McCoy and Edwyn Collins, to name but a few.

Ali’s New Voices combines his upbringing of a traditional West-Coast style through his style of tune writing, with his daring and adventurous style of playing. As well as this, he is accompanied today by some of the finest musicians in folk music.
