Bring your singing voices for an afternoon celebrating the
work of Adam McNaughtan, one of Scotland’s most beloved songwriters
and Scots rhymers.
Known for his sharp wit and insightful songwriting, Adam
gifted us classics like The Jeely Piece Song, The Glasgow
That I Used to Know, and Yellow on the Broom, along with his
humorous song adaptations of Hamlet and Romeo &
Juliet.
Host Siobhan Miller will lead a stellar line-up, including
Scott Gardiner, Brian Miller, and special guests, bringing Adam’s legacy to
life. This is a special opportunity to hear his songs performed by artists
across generations who have been inspired by his work.
A master storyteller and cultural historian, Adam’s songs
capture the essence of Scottish life. A schoolteacher by trade and a passionate
scholar of Scottish folk traditions, he has played a vital role in preserving
children’s songs, broadside ballads, and music hall gems. His deep love for
Scottish history and culture is woven through every song.
Join us to rediscover cherished classics and unearth hidden
gems from one of Scotland’s greatest songwriters.
