Her cultural authenticity and “voice soft as rain” (The Independent) have earned the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award and Gaelic Singer of the Year title, as well as widespread recognition both home and abroad. Sarah Markey is a talented Scottish musician, skilled in flute, harp, and vocals. A 2019 BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year finalist, her debut album "Leaving Lurgangreen" earned her an Up and Coming Artist nomination. This album showcases her creativity, blending Irish, Scottish, and Asturian influences, exploring themes of heritage and friendship.
