Jim Mackintosh & Guests: The Banes o the Turas

Critically acclaimed poet Jim Mackintosh is joined by award-winning musicians Ali Hutton, Patsy Reid, Fiona Hunter and Barry Reid for a unique evening of music & poetry based on The Banes o’ the Turas. 

Shortlisted for the 2023 Scots Language Awards, the book is Jim’s poetic translation from the original Italian of Turas Viaggio by Pino Mereu. Pino’s work drew inspiration from his friendship with the iconic Hamish Henderson and his journey from his Perthshire birth via North Africa and Sicily to the berryfields of Blairgowrie and the folk and landscapes he met along the way. “An elegant, resolute and often poignant collection.” (Anne Pia)
