Celtic Connections proudly presents Good Looks and Hospital Corner

Austin, Texas quartet Good Looks write kindhearted, cathartic rock songs about the persistence required to make it through hard times.

Fronted by vocalist and guitarist Tyler Jordan, with lead guitarist Jake Ames, bassist Harrison Anderson, and drummer Phil Dunne, the foursome released their critically acclaimed debut Bummer Year in 2022. The album channeled post-2016 frustrations into lyrically generous and biting tracks.

However, immediately after their triumphant hometown record release show, tragedy struck. Walking outside the venue, Ames was hit by a car crossing the street, fracturing his skull and tailbone. Following a necessary period of healing and processing which found him in the ICU and dealing with short-term memory issues, he recovered.

The traumatic accident strengthened their bond, which is evident on their electric new album Lived Here For A While. Fearlessly direct, its music captures the full-throated intensity of their galvanizing live shows.

Hospital Corner (aka Christopher Finn) is set to release his new EP 'Seasonal Change'. It’s a collection of songs that are wrapped in melodic alternative rock but with hope and optimism piercing through. Waiting For Me is the perfect first single and opening gusto for the EP. It’s an anthemic rock sound in the spirit of a Frighted Rabbit with an edge at home on the left of the dial of college radio stations. The riff and the idea of the song have been bubbling away for years and with the encouragement of a close friend he finally got around to recording it. A prime example is that you need to surround yourself with people who believe in you. latest single,

Seasonal Change is the latest outing, The track blends alternative rock with synth undertones creating an atmospheric explosion of sounds. Dealing with a low point in Chris's life and using his music to explore those difficult emotions.
