Bog Bodies are not just a band — they’re a musical journey through time, seamlessly weaving the ancient echoes of Ireland's megalithic past into the vibrant tapestry of contemporary Trad.
Performers of “Heavy Folk” (often dubbed “Bog Rock” or “Druid Rock”), the band was formed by Irish singer-songwriter and archaeologist Dan Maher. Dan’s close study and appreciation of ancient culture has influenced the band’s sound, pulling songs from the ether during visits to tombs and other ancient sites.
Their genre-bending, high-energy folk sound has earned them international critical acclaim. Their debut album, Reclaim the Ritual, is available now via Invocation Records (US).
