Hosted by Danny Kyle’s good friend Liz Clark, the Open Stage is a chance to see new musical talent– and all absolutely free!
The Danny Kyle Open Stage (DKOS), established in 1999 in memory of Danny Kyle, showcases emerging musical talent. Originally managed by Gibb Todd and Liz Clark, Liz has solely produced and presented DKOS since 2012. Artists from across Europe, Australia, the Americas, Africa, and beyond have performed on this stage. Since 2008, DKOS has been broadcast live via Celtic Music Radio, reaching an estimated 110,000 listeners worldwide.
The platform has launched the careers of many successful artists, with winners going on to headline festivals and venues across the UK and internationally. Each year, six selected acts receive a Showcase at the end of the festival and during the next year's Celtic Connections, with opportunities for further support slots. DKOS continues to play a vital role in nurturing the future of folk and acoustic music.
This show is free and a ticket is not required. Please note that capacity is limited and entry is on a first come first served basis.
