Celtic Connections proudly presents Old Blind Dogs and É.T.É

The musical evolution of Scottish folk hall of famers Old Blind Dogs began in Aberdeen in 1992 with roots that grew from the Granite City’s flourishing 90s music scene. Four musicians from different backgrounds came together to create a full-time professional touring band. They’d go on to showcase the rich tradition of songs and tunes of Scotland’s North East on an international stage.

Like many of the early flag-bearing Scottish folk bands, the Old Blind Dogs lineup has changed over the years — yet the core values at the heart of the band continue to beat strong.

The current lineup has been settled for several years and comprises four of Scotland's finest traditional musicians. Original member Jonny Hardie (Fiddle, Vocals) is joined by Aaron Jones (Cittern, Guitar, Vocals), Donald Hay (Percussion, Vocals) and Mike Katz (Pipes, Whistles) to deliver an uplifting and intoxicating performance like only the ‘Dugs’ can. They will also be joined by US piper, whistle player, vocalist and Internet sensation Elias Alexander for this special show.

The fruitful meeting of three young musicians with vibrant artistic journeys, É.T.É propose a dynamic and contemporary vision of Québécois trad music. With influences from jazz, progressive rock, and classical music, violinist Élisabeth Moquin, bouzouki player Thierry Clouette and cellist Élisabeth Giroux create their own trad universe with original compositions.
