John Francis Flynn is a singer, guitarist, flautist – and practitioner of the double tin whistle – whose work centres around traditional folk material from Ireland. As a stalwart of Skipper’s Alley, he has toured extensively internationally with the celebrated Dublin group.
Flynn’s first album as a solo artist, I Would Not Live Always, won rave reviews and two awards at the RTE Folk Awards. Topping its 2021 list of Folk Albums of the Year, The Guardian noted ‘human experience burns ferociously in this extraordinary debut from the uncompromising Irish artist’. His second album Look Over The Wall, See The Sky should see Flynn reach new heights of folk stardom.
