Celtic Connections presents Gnoss with Lauren MacColl

Gnoss returns to Celtic Connections with their dynamic fusion of traditional Scottish folk and contemporary flair. Known for their rich acoustic sound and standout musicianship, the band has garnered a devoted following through their captivating live performances and innovative approach to folk music. Their critically acclaimed albums, Drawn From Deep Water and The Light of The Moon, earned them multiple Scots Trad Music Awards nominations, including Album of the Year, and over a million streams in 2022.

Their latest release, Stretching Skyward, expands their acoustic roots with new electronic elements, further cementing their place at the forefront of Scottish folk. Featuring Aidan Moodie, Graham Rorie, Connor Sinclair, and Craig Baxter, Gnoss delivers a live show full of warmth and energy, having previously sold out three consecutive Celtic Connections performances. This year, they return after standout appearances across the UK and Europe, continuing to push boundaries in folk music.

Lauren MacColl, crowned winner of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award 20 years ago, has built a rich and varied career. She co-founded fiddle quartet RANT and song trio Salt House, released five solo albums, and collaborated with numerous artists. Her distinct, darkly-toned fiddle sound now features original compositions alongside traditional music.
