Deirdre Graham takes a look at the stories and themes behind Scottish Gaelic songs, in a continuation of her Gaelic Song Stories podcast series, inviting the audience into he heart and soul of the Gael and giving a deep sense of connection to Scottish culture, family and heritage. Since the release of her debut album, URRANTA in 2020, Deirdre has risen in prominence in the Scottish folk music scene, performing across Scotland, undertaking collaboration projects, turning her hand to guest presenting on BBC Radio Scotland’s prestigious show ‘Travelling Folk’, and was appointed as Assistant Musical Director for BBC Alba’s Cèilidh na Bliadhn’ Ùire (Hogmanay show).
Hailed as “one of the most exciting and fully rounded talents to emerge from the Scottish scene” (BBC Radio 2), Lewis-born Gaelic singer Mischa Macpherson has captivated audiences worldwide with her tender and expressive performances—from Europe to Asia, Australia, and beyond.
